World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will be able to gain an additional 3% of the previous damage for every time it's upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them. The item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be inserted. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment to which it is used (for examplefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using fewer Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level with normal methods.

A  boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it is likely that the item will become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate possibility of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.

You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

The use of a Glyph will boost all the nodes connected to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components.  Full Post  is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is upgraded.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an individual player upgrades an item it is replaced by an item that is new. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will have a unique bonus. This can be a disadvantage in that it could make the item more expensive if you do not require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough tokens to do this. The item will be replaced by the same item, but it has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it could waste a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the max roll by a factor of 10. This item is very important in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of its non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will ca us e the item to revert to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any gained bonuses such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or reload speed). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded increases its crit chance it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. Slots is a new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the ingredients needed to upgrade.
